As part of our ongoing commitment to data protection and ensuring the most secure access for our customers, the password requirements for Wolters Kluwer user credentials will be enhanced as of July 13, 2026.
All new passwords created after July 13, 2026, must meet the conditions outlined below; however, there is no requirement to change existing passwords. The requirements will apply to all new credentials or to end users who request a password reset for their existing credentials. All reset screens will include a message outlining the requirements outlined below.
New Password Requirements as of July 13, 2026
Must contain at least 8 characters and not exceed 32 characters
Must contain at least one uppercase letter (A-Z)
Must contain at least one lowercase letter (a-z)
Must contain at least one numeric digit (1-9)
Must contain at least one special character from the following list: !@?#$%&*_/\^()
Cannot contain spaces
Must differ from the User ID
Unique from the last 5 previous passwords
FAQ
Will my previous password now become case-sensitive?
Yes. Previously, passwords created with capital letter characters could be entered as lower case or upper case, however after July 13th, the password must be entered to match how it was created.
Are Federated SSO-generated credentials affected?
No change will be required for Federated SSO generated IDs. Standard IDs are randomly generated with new Federated SSO IDs that will comply with the new requirements, but end users will see no change in their logging-in experience.
Can universal passwords continue to be prescribed via the ID Manager tool for IDs created by an Administrator using ID Manager?
Yes, however the password in that field in ID Manager must be adjusted to conform with the new requirements.
